Job Description

Account Manager - Payments Location Leeds YorkshireCompensation Salaried (around 25k DOE plus future bonuses)Position type PermanentEmployment type Full time - Monday to Friday 9am/5.30pmOur client are a leading independent UK based payment Service Provider (PSP) offering merchant accounts to a wide range of clients across the UK and into Europe. They have a focus on providing a solution that fits merchant requirements by using the uniquelevel of expertise gained in the team, in conjunction with extremely high standards of support and service. By having a wide range of banking partners, they are able to find that ideal solution for a merchant rather than selling a "one suite fits all" proposition.Their speciality is working with high-risk merchant accounts and being able to provide solutions that range from e-commerce platforms to Chip and Pin machines. They provide a high level of support to their merchants and as the company grows, it is essentialthat members of their team are able to maintain this high standard by carrying a good work ethic, a keenness and ability to learn, and the willingness to pitch in when needed.A position is available within the Operations Department.In order to be considered for this role we are seeking:

  • Experience working in customer service and/or account management roles.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Experience using customer service databases, or similar
  • An individual with strong communication skills, verbal and written, with a belief in delivering the highest level of support and service to customers.
  • The ability to perform, and adapt, well under pressure, have a desire to learn, and self-manage when necessary
  • Exposure to reviewing
  • A person committed to the role they play within a team of individuals, their part in the success of the team, and thereby, the company
The role - Based from our offices in Leedsalthough currently home working is strongly supported and will be a long term option on a split 3 day home and 2 day office reporting into the Merchant Support Manager. The account manager willwork closely with our Sales and Integration teams and will be responsible for delivering first line, first class support, for the lifetime of the merchant account pre and post, integration. This is an exciting opportunity for a bright, articulate and enthusiasticindividual who would like to work for a rapidly developing and expanding business in Leeds. Key areas of responsibility will include:
  • Providing first line support for merchants, pre and post integration, on a wide range of topics ranging from understanding fees, up-selling additional services, to facilitating contract changes.
  • Producing reports, both for merchant and internally, on processing levels.
  • Analysing merchant behaviour and processing patterns.
  • Ensuring our internal database and systems are kept up to date.
  • Performing adhoc checks and account monitoring.
  • Creating strong working relationships with the acquiring banks as part of managing a merchant account and our relationship with the acquirer.
  • Developing and maintaining a good working relationship with merchants to provide on-going support for the lifetime of the account.
Additional information - The salary is negotiable and will be commensurate with knowledge, ability and previous experience. During the first 6 weeks, more time may be required in the Leeds offices during the primary training and handoverperiod.
