ND LINE SUPPORT ENGINEERJob Role:This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing and friendly IT Support Company based in West Yorkshire. On a day to day basis you will be office based and responsible for providing 1st and 2nd line support via the helpdesk. The successful applicant must have excellent communication skills and act in a polite and professional manor at all times. You will have a minimum of 4 years’ experience working in a problem solving role covering the below key experience topics. Some support tickets may be escalated to a site visit where required and you would be responsible for attending. The majority of our customers are within a 50 mile radius of our HQ. Although we promote self-learning and ownership of difficult tickets the successful candidate must also be able to identify when escalation to a 3rd line engineer is necessary so other customers aren’t kept waiting.Key Experience:The ideal candidate would have extensive knowledge covering all points below but we would also invite for interview applicants that cover a majority but not all.•Remote/Desktop Support to end users - print / logon / internet / email issues etc.•PC/Server/Network Infrastructure Support - network loops / reboots / repairs etc.•Windows Server 2003/2008/2012 + Windows SBS 2003/2008/2011 - installing/configuring/support•Strong Exchange skills 2003/2007/2010/2013 - basic mail flow trouble shooting•Dealing with 3rd parties - logging hardware warranty issues / liaising with software vendors•Group Policy/AD/DNS/DHCP - making changes and fault finding•Following strict Helpdesk Software procedures and keeping the clients well informed on progress•Windows 7/8/10 + Office 2010/2013/2016•Hyper-V/ESX/ESXi - virtual environments•Backup technologies and AV Software - Symantec / Veeam / Max Backup•Hardware Firewalls and routers - understanding of IP routing and no NAT setups including VPN•Ordering and supporting internet connectivity via an ISP - ADSL / FTTC / Leased Line etc.•Office 365Essentials:Must have some relevant vendor qualifications; Microsoft/Citrix/VMwareMust have a full UK driving license with less than 6 points and have own transportationExperience working for a MSP would be highly advantageous.
