The Recruitment Crowd have recently partnered with a market leading client! We are recruiting for a permanent Flexographic Printer!Job Details:Salary: £25,000Hours: 3 x 12 hour shifts between Monday to Friday on a weekly rotating pattern 6am-6pm/6pm-6amThe Role:Take responsibility for the operation of new 5-station flexographic (label) printing press for printing onto plastic films 150 - 320mm wide. The plastic films (PVC or polypropylene) will usually be adhesive coated, and it is likely that solvent-based inks andauxiliaries will be used unless or until an aqueous product can be found with suitable performance. Much of the work will involve flood coating. The printer is responsible for setting up and running jobs as well as checking and maintaining the quality of theproduct produced.Key Responsibilities:

• Proven experience as a flexographic printer.
• Operate the machine efficiently and skilfully and in line with the Companys Safety and Quality procedures
• Challenge existing processes and strive to improve standards and maximize performance Pro-active approach to ensuring that the machine runs smoothly at all times; observe the process and rectify and identify any issues that may arise, assess and evaluateroot cause and use problem-solving skills to correct and rectify problems
• Cooperate and share knowledge with Team and all direct reports to help build and improve systems and existing processes
• Report any hazards, quality and H&S matters directly to the Shift Manager
• Responsible for basic machine maintenance and cleaning, good attention to detail and organizational skills essential
• Liaise with team members to ensure that there is an adequate supply of raw materials and packaging ready and available in advance of scheduled jobs
• Ensure that correct Work Instructions are available and that the production line database is fully updated and accurate.
• Responsibility for the Ink Store and mixing area, including safe storage of all inks and chemicals and proper disposal of any waste

Requirements:

• Proven experience at running complex machinery in a manufacturing environment
• Flexible attitude, desire to learn new skills and to succeed
• Understanding of production planning
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Strong numeracy skills - understands tolerances and use of measuring equipment, such as digital callipers.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Good IT skills
• Understanding of Health and Safety policies
• Understanding of Quality Systems
• Understanding of Environmental Management policies
• Proven experience as a flexographic printer.
• Able to web up the press and prepare all print stations
