Oracle DBACandidates can be based anywhere south of Manchester and must be happy to travel to Bridgend, South Wales once or twice a month to catch up with the team.To £55K plus extensive benefits package.Due to the highly secure nature of this work, candidates must hold current UK Security Clearance to DV Level.Position summary:Our client is looking for an Oracle DBA to join their busy team who are based in Bridgend, however candidates can be based anywhere south of Manchester as long as they are prepared to travel to Bridgend once or twice a month. If you have a sixth sense for data science, there is a digital revolution underway that needs the talents of people like you who are at home analysing, managing, designing and predicting complex datasets and breathing life into AI systems.Job role responsibilities:This Oracle DBA role is an exciting and diverse role with two main parts; predominantly you will be working with a high-profile secure client as an Applications DBA, providing support and working closely with the client. The second part of the role is working within the Shared Services Team, supporting a high-profile client base within various sectors such as Central Government, utilities & telecoms etc as more of a Production DBA. The role focuses on deploying, operating, and maintaining both internal and client databases from small development systems through to mission critical production systems.The position sits within a team of specialist DBAs who work collaboratively across all technology groups and play a key part in business success. They work with and support clients 24x7, 365 meaning there are elements of out of hours working. The team provide out of hours cover on a rota basis and it expected that the successful candidate would join the rota following an initial onboarding with the team.Essential experience required:This is a specialist grade position requiring a solid understanding of the core elements of database administration such as backup and recovery, patching, monitoring, systems tuning and capacity management with a working knowledge of more advanced features such as RAC, ASM and dataguard replication.You will have demonstrable experience supporting development through to production databases with exposure to a number of Oracle database versions from 11g to the most recent 19c.
