Job Description

A Large Global Science, Technology and Engineering company are recruiting for a number of Category Managers within the Supply Chain function for their Leatherhead office. The salary for the role is £40,000 along with an excellent benefits package.The successful candidate will be responsible for all category management related contracts (strategy, tender, contract award etc) in the grouping within which they are allocated. They will operate as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) within a defined categoryfor all new projects and proposals won globally.About the role

  • Analysis of identified category spend, full tendering activity with recommendations to formally contract with key supply partners. Spend groupings cover Human Resources, Corporate Services, Property & FM Services, Professional Services, and InformationTechnology (IT). Additional categories may be introduced in line with business need.
  • Analyse all category spend by country, by department and by region within the assigned category.
  • Formally tender all major un-contracted spend to ensure key contracts are established in all areas.
  • Make recommendations for new suppliers, or additional suppliers/items as appropriate.
  • Researching the market for identified spend categories, looking for potential suppliers, designing specifications and quotations.
  • End-to-End supply chain management/materials management including supplier engagement and management.
  • Drafting, negotiating and executing contracts using ourstandard terms and conditions.

SPECIFIC SKILLS THIS ROLE REQUIRES
  • Proven ability to follow a defined strategic sourcing and procurement process and report progress.
  • Proven ability to research the market and sourcing potential suppliers, leading to the end-to-end strategic sourcing process.
  • Proven skills at eliciting requirements/scope of work and business process mapping.
  • Strong understanding of contractual/legal terms and conditions.
  • Ability to maintain on-going relationships with suppliers including performance management of said suppliers.
  • Ability to perform market analysis including commercial & financial viability of suppliers plus assessment of their performance and resource capabilities.
