Technical AuthorLocation: Leamington SpaContract: PermanentSalary: up to £40,000Hours: 37.5 hours per weekWe have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Technical Author to join our client in Leamington on a permanent basis.Technical Author Role:

• Technical authors write documents and guides that explain how to use products and services.
• A Technical Author is a multi-disciplined role, which interfaces with many areas of the group of business to deliver change notifications, user manuals & services guides, spares, labels, other technical data onto multimedia interfaces.
• The main function of the Technical Author is writing up user manuals and service guides for good white products, which need to be completed in multiple languages through translation. Also, creating and publishing spares for repair/replacement for wholesalersand consumers.

Technical Author Responsibilities

• Creation, generation, and modification of product literature using a range of software in any number of languages, through liaison with the project teams
• Generation of instructional creation and amendments resulting from continuous improvement cost reduction, quality improvement, and standardisation.
• Facilitate the translation of instructional literature from both internal and external sources by the most expedient and cost-effective route
• You will be responsible for creating, editing text, pictures and diagrams, and proofreading.
• You will be responsible for collating and verifying information
• Review, update and maintain the company web-based media.
• Creation, generation, and modification of product spares lists, through liaison with the project teams, and input data to online database systems.
• Creation, and interpreting, of modification requests (CRNs) to action changes and amendments in a timely manner.
• Support Design team in creation of BOMs in Smarteam and MRP system.
• As and when required, purchase order creation and tracking.

Technical Author Skills & Experience needed:

• Ideally qualified to an HNC or higher in a relevant discipline.
• Appreciation of time critical availability of literature in line with the requirements of the NPI project plan
• Communicate clearly with engineers, designer, and production.
• Analytical and reasoned thinking including system problem solving.
• Ability to work effectively on their own or part of a project team.
• Ensure process is followed correctly and the complete wholistic project(s) are finished to a high standard.
• Pro-active and self-motivated with the ability to prioritise their workload and meet tight deadlines.
• High level of attention to detail, lateral thinking and good communication is required.
• Meticulous and accurate production of product and web-based media
• Ability to use Solidworks composer (Similar to Corel draw, Adobe illustrator) is desirable but not essential.
• An understanding of using MRP system is desirable but not essential.
