Job Description

Our client is a well-established and respected Legal Firm in the local area, who due to continuous growth, is now looking to recruit an experienced Paralegal into their Clinical Negligence and Personal Injury Team based from Leamington Spa. The purpose ofthe role is to provide a comprehensive administrative service within a busy department. It is essential that the successful candidate has prior experience working with a PI portal, so prior exposure within a Clinical Negligence and/or Personal Injury Teamis essential. The successful candidate will live locally to the office in Leamington spa. The role will suit a diligent and organised individual who is looking for longevity and potential development within their next role, and in return, our client will offera close-knit, family feel environment with a supportive and flexible working culture.Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to the Fee Earners, Head of Department and wider team.
  • Attend to clients where required.
  • Making and receiving telephone calls from clients, medical experts, barristers and clerks.
  • Maintain files and ensure efficient case management of Clinical and PI matters.
  • Requesting cheques/paying in cheques, BACS payments and liaising with Accounts.
  • Completing and maintaining cheque spreadsheet and forecasts and providing cost updates for fee earners.
  • Picking up dictations.
  • Scanning records and paginating medical records.
  • Selecting files for monthly file reviews and sending reminders to ensure all are undertaken.
  • Arranging client appointments and managing diaries.
  • Obtaining dates of availability and arranging conferences with counsel and experts.
  • Arranging department meetings, taking minutes and typing up notes.
  • Preparing Legal Aid requests for disbursements/profit costs.
  • Arranging for cost draftsman and courier to collect files.
Skills & Experience:
  • Minimum 2 years experience working as a Paralegal (or similar) within a Clinical Negligence or Personal Injury department.
  • Experience using a PI portal is essential.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent client care with a commercial approach and acumen.
  • Strong organisational and administration skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Team player approach.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Case Management Systems (knowledge of Tiket would be advantageous).
  • Ability to work to timescales and deadlines.
