Job Description

We are growing rapidly and shifting from prototype to volume manufacturing.This is an exciting time to join a dynamic and innovative organisation.We are looking for an enthusiastic Electronics Technician who can support the build and development of our high-speed motor controllers. The role will involve working with both the production team, to support the build of our current products, as well asthe engineering design team to create our next generation of class leading electronics.Main Responsibilities:

  • Leading the test and rework of electronics PCBs and electronics components.
  • Management and supervision of the Electronics Lab and related equipment.
  • Assembly of prototype and low-volume products to support customer projects.
  • High voltage testing in the test cells, including test cell set up, debugging, calibration and factory acceptance testing.
  • Supporting the creation of and running new processes to support engineering and production.
  • Supporting design reviews to identify potential opportunities or problems with designs early on.
  • Limited PCB layout activities, as required.
Qualifications and Experience:Essential
  • Hands on experience with PCBs and electronic components including soldering and reworking boards.
  • Able to use problem solving techniques to identify problems and suggest potential fixes on prototype products.
  • Able to work independently, with little supervision, taking responsibility for the electronics lab and processes supporting this.
  • Able to read engineering electronics drawings and schematics, creating prototypes from these.
  • Use of electronics equipment, such as oscilloscopes and probes as well as simple workshop hand tools, inspection gauges and custom tools.
  • Ability to follow complex work instructions, including highlighting deviation from the process.
  • Ability to use specialist equipment with appropriate training.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross functional team.
Desirable
  • Experience laying out PCB ideally using Altium.
  • Working knowledge of motors and motor controllers.
  • Experience with power electronics and high voltage test environments.
  • Experience working in small, fast-paced R&D companies.
  • Experience taking products from design and prototype to production.
