Job Description

Trainee Emissions Testing Technician wanted for full time (39 hours per week) temporary-to-permanent contract with our client in East Kilbride.The emissions testing sector is a small one - but very much in demand. If you have an engineering or science background or a natural curiosity with assembling/dismantling equipment, are happy to travel across Scotland, Ireland and Northern England whileworking autonomously but as part of a wider team - then please read on.Our client based in East Kilbride is looking to bring on an additional team member to their experienced group of colleagues.This is a comprehensive role but for the right person can be the stepping stone into a credible and long-term career.Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Support the Team Leader with preparations (equipment etc) for each industrial emissions testing project.
  • Support the Team Leader and other colleagues with site activities throughout Scotland and further afield carrying out MCERTS & UKAS accredited industrial emissions tests at various client sites on behalf of Permit holders and other parties (eg Regulators).
  • Following training, produce technical reports following site works for review, sign off and issue to end client.
  • Following training, carry out essential risk assessments prior to site based activities and communicate the findings for review and sign off by colleagues/clients where applicable.
  • Work independently and as part of a team using your training and technical knowledge to meet and maintain the Company and Client performance KPIs.
  • Provide effective support to the Team Leader and wider team with ancillary tasks such as equipment maintenance, packing and sending of site samples to accredited labs, sourcing and purchasing of necessary equipment and spares to support the business andtesting activities and any other reasonable tasks expected by the local Team Leader or Business Manager.
