Job Description

We also pay sleepover hours at £9.30 per hour.In North Lanarkshire, Quarriers services are focussed on supporting adults with learning and/or other disabilities. The organisation is committed to enabling individuals to make informed choices about their lives, and by encouraging participation and integration within local communities through using local resources. Each person has an individual support plan, which allows him/her to be respected as a valued member of society.We are looking for a Senior Support Worker preferably with a SVQ3 qualification or working towards this. The role is to assist the management team in establishing a positive environment for adults with disabilities. The successful candidate has a number of key objectives and accountabilities including:

  • To work collaboratively with the Team Leader in all aspects of service delivery to improve the quality of services across North Lanarkshire for People Supported by Quarriers.
  • To assist in the promotion of the physical, emotional well-being and general health of service users’ to the highest possible standard, and to create an environment which provides for service users’ felling of security, responsibility and worth.
  • To share responsibility for the compilation of records, the preparation of individual personal plans and their implementation, and to share responsibility for a regular case review system.
  • To participate in the development and maintenance of professional and caring relationships between staff and service users’ in the pursuit of service users’ personal development.
  • To participate in general household duties involving the service users’ as appropriate.
  • To mentor and supervise support workers and relief support workers while on shift and in their delivery of all support as per individual care plans.
  • To assist in the preparation of rotas and agree delegation of support responsibilities in conjunction with the Team Leader(s) and Project Manager.
  • Please note that IT skills are required for all Quarriers vacancies.The successful candidate should have SVQ3 or working towards.It is essential for this role that successful candidates have a full driving license.Where applicable, successful candidates will be required to register with the SSSC within 6 months of start date.At Quarriers our staff are our most important asset therefore we offer extensive training and impressive learning and development opportunities.
