Job Description

Strive Supply Chain are a leading management recruitment consultancy, specialising in Supply Chain, Production, Planning, Logistics, Transport & Warehouse Operations.Our client is a niche 3PL distributor with sites across Northern UK. We are delighted to assist them in their search for an Operations Manager at their site in Cumbernauld, North Lanarkshire. Reporting into the Regional Ops Manager, you will be responsible for the day to day running of the busy operation, with a fleet size of c15 units and 15 Drivers, the site operates on a cross docking basis.PLEASE NOTE: The operation runs Monday to Friday, between 0600hrs and 2000hrs.This role covers any 9.5 hours per day across this period to suit the operation and volumes.Key Accountabilities as Operations Manager:

  • Controlling handling operation instructing warehouse and ensuring correct labelling of all cargo
  • Monitoring vehicles and driver performance through live tracking system
  • Be responsible for controlling costs associated with the operation
  • Ensuring effective driver briefing and debrief and drivers have correct customer paperwork for all jobs and checking paperwork has been completed correctly & controlling PODs
  • Ensuring and managing safe working practices on site including HSQE inspections
The Ideal Person for the Operations Manager role:
  • Previous experience of managing a similar FMCG Warehouse and Transport operation
  • Possess a valid CPC
  • Able to demonstrate a sound understanding of vehicle planning and routing
  • Good working knowledge of Transport Legislation (EU Drivers Hours and Working Time Directive)
  • Excellent communication skills
