RECRUITMENTiQ is working in partnership with a business that provides innovative high-quality livestock solutions, focused on improving animal performance and its customers profitability. Privately owned, the business trades throughout the UK and has developedan increasingly strong export market through its international division. With a manufacturing capacity of 270,000 tonnes from sites based in Scotland, the business produces high-quality livestock feeds for beef, sheep, dairy, pig, and poultry.We are looking to expand our Birkhill maintenance team and appoint an experienced Mechanical Engineer. The successful applicant will be responsible for multi-skilled maintenance service on all operational equipment and facilities.To ensure the continuousrunning of production lines by eliminating engineering downtime through a safe and logical approach to fault finding and maintenance of equipment.Key Responsibilities:-Ensure planned, corrective, and emergency maintenance are carried out in a safe, efficient and effective manner. Eg. Screw conveyors, elevators, large rotating machinery, compressor systems (mixers, blow line systems), steam boilers, and pressuresystemsCarry out an appraisal of equipment and take appropriate remedial action to ensure a continuous production operation.Where a temporary repair is carried out, make certain rectification is scheduled as soon as possible.Promptly carry out repairs to avoid leakages and material losses.Ensure routine maintenance and verification measurement are carried out in accordance with the relevant operating procedures and work instructions.Maintain all records required to comply with the Quality System.Carry out daily tasks and report where completion is not possible.Maintain own work areas in a clean and hygienic condition.Ensure site security is enforced during maintenance activities.QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:Essential:HNC/HND in Mechanical EngineeringFull, clean Driving LicenceHealth & Safety Knowledge & AwarenessExcellent communicatorStrong IT SkillsAttention to detail & good organizational skillsWorks well as an individual and as part of a teamAbility to work alone and unsupervisedExperience in a similar or comparable industry.Experience with steam, steam boilers, and pressure systems pressure RegulationsAvailable to provide 24hr/7day on-call cover for breakdowns/emergencies as neededDesired:Experience with screw conveyors, elevators, large rotating machinery, compressor systems (mixers, blow line systems,)The successful candidate will stand out from the crowd, will be professional, versatile, personable, and very focused on development and performance management.Youll be joining a company of experienced, innovative, and dedicated people where you will have the opportunities to learn new skills and develop in your career.
