Job Description

Lab Technician for eMobility (m/f/d)Location: East Kilbride, UKAt this site, we are responsible for the development of a range of battery chargers that are used in various settings including industrial equipment, forklift trucks, and innovative warehouse automation systems. We operate in a growing and thriving marketplacewhich has a bright future as legacy vehicles move to electrification.Your profile The successful candidate will have a practical background in electronics, with either an apprenticeship or college/university background but must have experience in a similar position for at least 2 years.Your challenge

  • Help us maintain our portfolio of charging products.
  • Continuously improve the quality of our products.
  • Work with the other members of the design team to improve and develop our battery charger product lines and to keep us ahead of our competitors.
We would prefer
  • Experience in the debug and repair of electronic equipment: Ideally switching power converters, power supplies or battery chargers.
  • Experience in the measurement of voltage and current, using oscilloscopes, voltage probes and current probes.
  • The ability to interpret schematics and PCB design documentation.
  • A theoretical and working knowledge of electronic components.
  • An understanding of laboratory test equipment such as AC and DC sources, data loggers, thermal chambers
  • Source code control tools.
  • The ability to work safely with products operating up to 480Vac.
  • Hands on experience of PCB repairs using hand soldering equipment and fine pitch components.
  • The ability to debug, diagnose, repair and test complex circuits to component level.
  • An appreciation of bill of material control and change management.
  • Experience of an MRP system such as SAP or Agile.
  • The desire and ability to work in a process-controlled environment and be able to create and interpret documents such as test reports.
