Job Description

Lab Analyst (Chemistry)Job Location: East KilbrideJob Salary: £22,000 - £28,000 Dependent on experienceWe are currently working with a renowned manufacturer of pain relief products based in East Kilbride. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Multiskilled Analyst rather than just a QC Analyst working in Sampling/Inspection, QC laboratory and Microbiology.The successful candidate will be willing to work equally in inspection, sampling, micro and QC. The successful candidate will provide high quality, timely and efficient analytical services and take responsibility for ensuring daily activities within the laboratory maximise efficiency for operations and compliance with current industry regulations.More specifically you will:

  • Ensure prompt and efficient sampling, labelling and testing of raw materials, intermediate and finished products.
  • Ensure all laboratory equipment has undergone required servicing and calibration before use.
  • Housekeeping and GMP laboratory activities are performed as required.
  • Complete laboratory equipment logbooks and labelling in accordance with procedures.
  • Ensure procedures for Out of Specification, Non-conformance are followed and completed as and when required.
  • Assist in the testing requirements for validation of products, laboratory instrumentation and methods.
Job Requirements:
  • A 2:1 or above in Chemistry or a related degree
  • Laboratory experience in industry (12 months plus preferably)
  • Advanced analytical laboratory skills in GC-FID, HPLC, FTIR, UV-VIS, Karl Fischer, Melting and Drop Point, Viscosity etc. along with potential for testing of microbiological purity.
