Job Description

Our client, based in East Kilbride, makes, sells and distributes some of the worlds best loved non-alcoholic, ready-made beverages to over 300million customers across 13 countries; the site in East Kilbride produces 18 million cases of drinks per year!Our client is looking for a Health and Safety Coordinator to start as soon as possible. Shifts - Monday to Friday 8 hours shift,Pay Rate - £15.32What you become part of:

  • Support internal and external audit processes, providing access to Policy, risk assessment methods and procedures and sampling of activity as required to meet the audit protocol.
  • Health and Safety related Checks and equipment monitoring as defined within the H & S monitoring plan for the site.
  • Support complex and specialised health & safety risk assessments
  • Incident Management - support Health and Safety related incidents and accidents as directed by the Health and Safety Manager to ensure thorough investigations take place and findings are incorporated into the preventative H&S Plan for the site.
  • Use H&S risk assessment findings to proactively amend the preventative H&S plan for the site, aligned with accident reduction objectives.
  • Follow site safety policies and best practices to ensure (and help become role-model) for safe-working for self and to protect the safety of colleagues, visitors and contactors alike to demonstrate zero accident behaviour.
  • Embrace team working and flexibility in tasks allocated to support the achievement of team/department/site objectives and own career development
Skills & Essentials
  • Prerequisite to the role will be to hold as a minimum the IOSH Managing Safely Qualification; a NEBOSH General Certificate would be more desirable. Suitable further training will be available if required.
  • Experience in Health and Safety risk assessment. FMCG (ideally food or drink) factory experience preferable.
  • Root cause analysis experience preferable.
Knowledge/ Technical skills
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft packages.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and persuasively, orally and in writing, to a wide and varied audience.
  • Basic knowledge of internal auditing practices would be advantageous (ISO 45001)
Personal skills
  • Ability to work independently on own initiative with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to interpret and apply safety legislation and policy.
  • Ability to work as part of a small team.
  • Ability to respond flexibly to change.
  • Understanding of and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain good relations.
