Job Description

Hardware Design Engineerfor eMobility (m/f/d)Location: East Kilbride, UKAt this site, we are responsible for the development of a range of battery chargers that are used in various settings including industrial equipment, forklift trucks, and innovative warehouse automation systems. We operate in a growing and thriving marketplacewhich has a bright future as legacy vehicles move to electrification.Your profile The successful candidate will likely have a few years experience and a relevant degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related subject.Your challenge

  • Help bring creative solutions to the growing automated material handling equipment market.
  • Effectively engage with the wider team in the software, hardware, and mechanical engineering departments.
  • You will develop high power switching converters, using our existing modern toolsets.
  • Plan your goals, and then deliver on them.
  • Take the initiative, collaborate, and communicate well.
  • Manage your workload, report progress, and show commitment.
  • Work on innovative power electronics, using tools such as Simulink.
We would prefer
  • Experience in the design of either isolated or non-isolated power electronics: buck, boost, PFC, LLC, Phase shift full bridge etc.
  • Experience in the design of sensing, scaling and measurement of Voltage and Current.
  • The ability to work with schematic capture tools, and the knowledge to guide a layout engineer to complete a successful PCB design.
  • A theoretical and working knowledge of magnetic components.
  • An understanding of worldwide EMC standards and the design techniques needed to comply with them.
  • Hands on experience of best practice techniques for thermal design: either convection, forced air, cold plate, or liquid cooling.
  • Previous experience in working with digitally controlled power conversion or motor controller products.
  • An appreciation of bill of material control and change management
  • The desire and ability to work in a process-controlled environment, and able to review and contribute to product documentation such as requirements, test specifications, and product design documentation.
