Job Description

A global Hi-tech Manufacturing company within the Lanarkshire area, have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Manager to join their team on a temp to perm basis.The Finance Manager will have full responsibility for all statutory and financial processes for the UK. The position reports directly to the CAO in the US with a dotted line to the UK Managing Director and will be an active contributor within the local Management Team.Key Accountabilities:

  • Ensure overall data and system integrity as it relates to financial data in compliance with US GAAP and Company’s policies
  • Manage the accounting initiatives and processes of the business unit
  • Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close for the organization
  • Responsible for quarterly reviews and annual audit in US GAAP and statutory
  • Ensure controls are in place and general ledger accounts are reconciled on a monthly basis
  • Ensure the organisation is in compliance with local statutory rules and regulations
  • Provide corporate and local management with the monthly balance sheet and PL flux analysis
  • Responsible for any system implementation, process improvement for the local business
  • Lead the administrative, billing, payables, collection support, inventory, and fixed asset activities
  • Review and provide approval of monthly journal entries as required
  • Develop reporting and analysis that supports strategic recommendations which enhance the profitability of the business unit
  • Oversee the preparation of financial forecasts and other management information for the organisation
  • Coordinate tax returns preparation and filing
  • Assess personnel needs and assign work to meet objectives
  • Manage staffing, training and performance evaluations to develop and improve staff
  • Supervise the work of others directly or through subordinate managers
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required
    • Essential Skills and Experience
  • Knowledge of Local & US GAAP
  • Excellent analytical skills and organizational skills in relation to managing multiple projects with tight deadlines
  • Strong financial management experience
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in supporting and consulting within the business unit
  • Advanced knowledge of internal control procedures
    • Desired Skills and Experience
  • Experience with one or more ERP systems – Oracle preferred
  • Good people skills with the ability to evaluate, coach and motivate employees
  • Relevant finance, accounting or related work experience within the manufacturing environment
