Job Description

Our client is recruiting for two Underwriting Assistants to join a busy team in Knaresborough. This is a great opportunity for a candidate who is looking to develop and start their career.As an Underwriting assistant you will assist a team of underwritersallowing them to focus on underwriting, so you will support the admin function of underwriting, this will include and not limited to processing of renewal business, managing workflows, inputting claims information, liaising with brokers on simple adjustmentsto policies, being the first point of contact for queries related to business both new and existing.Key Responsibilities:

  • Build good working relationships with the underwriting teams ensuring regular communication.
  • Ensure all account queries are dealt with, within service standards.
  • Assist in the underwriting/processing of allocated new business and renewals.
  • Provide general assistance to underwriters for broker administrative duties as agreed.
  • Liaise with brokers and internal departments for credit control, claims and risk information.
  • Work in conjunction with the underwriting teams to ensure efficient working practices are in place and identifying operational improvements, providing feedback to reduce rework or errors and raise any blockages.
Desirable Skillset:
  • Ability to balance and prioritise workload to contribute to feasible and desirable solutions to business problems.
  • Ability to work with others and across a wide matrix organisation.
  • Good written and verbal communication and credibility when dealing with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven track record in developing and maintaining excellent external relationships with associated business units.
In return our client is offering a salary of £20,000. The work is Monday - Friday, 9am -5pm and Friday finish at 5pm
