Job Description

CNC Programmer opportunity near Leeds!You will be working on well funded innovative and dynamic manufacturing development projects, within a Lean environment, within a rapidly growing business, offering excellent career prospects.Day Shift 37.5 hours per week (plus occasional additional support)Working for an innovative, dynamic, well capitalised business, we have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced CNC Programmer to join their team.CNC Programmer Primary Responsibilities:

  • Creation of new CNC programmes and updating existing programmes in line with the Production build plan and other enhancements to the designs.
  • Engagement with manufacturing engineering and DFM team to evolve current design to remedy production issues (SQDCPE). With common goal of driving design for assembly & improving cost per module through driving our waste.
  • Generate design rules for adoption into future designs & projectsenabling enhanced Safety, Quality and productivity.
  • Remain up-to-date with latest challenges within Production through close working and engagement with production colleagues. Ensure feedback to issue originators with action taken & next steps.
  • Develop standards for operating and maintaining equipment and FAQquick fix guides for common faults on equipment within the production environment.
  • Supporting the scoping out and implementation of new equipment including specification, installation and training.
  • Facilitate & support assembly of mandatory test panels for external compliance testing such as fire tests.
Reporting to the Engineering Team Leader, you will deliver CNC programming and machining activities. The role will require a balance of creating new programmes, updating existing programmes, involvement in optimising new designs and equipment, creating preventativemaintenance and operating procedures for CNC kit, production support / problem diagnosis.CNC Programmer Candidate Requirements:
  • Apprenticeship or equivalent experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment as a CNC programmer/technician.
  • Experience in working with CNC equipment (sawing/router/screw applications), ideally for the processing of timber and plasterboard materials.
  • Excellent IT skills and knowledge of MS Office software.
  • Experience of setting and programming various machines including screw patterns, routing and cutting programmes/data.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
  • Experience in the following software/packages:
    • Offline CAD CAM package
    • Onboard conversational programming
    • Knowledge of fanuc/G code programming
  • Start-up checks / ensure TPM schedule followed & completed.
  • Scheduling and management of CNC programmes into queueact as the first point of contact for CNC programme related concerns.
  • Able to pick correct tooling, work holding and machining strategy
  • Knowledge of different materials
  • Build of test walls / pilot walls for future product actionstrialling new programme.
  • Capturing continuous improvement opportunities to optimise equipment efficiency and improve overall productivity of assembly processes.
  • Confident, approachable, listening, respectful, enthusiastic & a good communicator.
  • PLC, HMI & automated production line experience is beneficial to role.
