We have an exciting opportunity for someone to come and join our Kirkby site as an Operations Manager.Saputo Dairy UK is a producer of leading British food brands and value-added ingredients. We are committed to providing healthy, tasty and sustainable foods and to play our part in helping to improve the nation’s health. We produce a wide range of market leading brands, including Cathedral City cheese, Clover dairy spread, Country Life butter and Frylight cooking spray. We also manufacture specialised ingredients for use in the infant formula.What you’ll do at Saputo Dairy UK• Work with the site Senior Leadership Team to develop and set the pace to implement business and continuous improvement strategies with considerations towards the organisational structure, culture, people and processes.• Support the direction and deployment of the Lean framework (Manufacturing Process System) to ensure consistent and rigorous application across the site in line with best practice.• Develop a robust continuous improvement strategy in partnership with the Management Team and key business stakeholders. • Direct responsibility for the Manufacturing operation within the Packing and Filling areas over a 24/7 operation, and take the lead in coordinating indirect responsibility for full site operations out of office hours through the Shift Managers.• Set department objectives/Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and review and assess ongoing performance of direct reports. • Ensure relevant on-going learning and development of all employees in lean improvement tools and communication methods. • Coach and facilitate teams and individuals to identify and implement improvement opportunities. Who’s right for the roleEssential• Demonstrated experience in a similar position within FMCG but we will also consider those from the automotive and pharmaceutical industry.• Relevant manufacturing/engineering degree is preferred, or HND, BTEC Professional Level 5 Award or equivalent NVQ Level 5 qualifications.• Demonstrated experience and understanding of lean manufacturing - to include continuous improvement, change management, TPM, TQM, Goal Alignment and Health and safety.• Excellent leadership and people management skills.
