Inclusive of HCAS (15%)“Occupational Therapy at Kingston Hospital is a therapeutic discipline that aims to provide individualised, goal-orientated interventions that promote health and welling-being through participation in chosen occupations”An exciting opportunity has arisen within Kingston Hospital Foundation Trust, for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Occupational Therapy (OT) Apprentice to join our Orthopedic and Surgical Team.This full time role will involve undertaking OT training over four years with The University of Brighton. The position involves 2 days of off job academic learning at the Eastbourne Campus starting in September 2021. The post holder will also work as an OT apprentice at Kingston Hospital assisting with provision of early assessment and therapeutic intervention, and support with tasks that contribute to patient flow. This will be within a supportive learning framework and supervision from either a qualified OT or competent Band 4 OT Assistant Practitioner. They will also complete 30 weeks of full time practice placements outside of their workplace across the four years. Through successful completion of their training and registration with HCPC, the post holder will aim to progress towards a Band 5 Occupational Therapist role at Kingston Hospital. The OT Apprenticeship program in partnership with the University of Brighton aims to combine and integrate academic and work-based learning.The successful candidate will join a team passionate about lifelong learning and career mapping, and will be supported by an experienced highly specialist team lead and operational lead.
