As a classroom teaching assistant you will needto be a dynamic and proactive individual confident in your abilities to support primary aged pupils with a passion for providing high levels of support to young people. Previous experience working with children is essential, although not necessarily in a schoolsetting as a teaching assistant; teaching overseas, volunteering, youth work, tutoring or mentoring will hold you in good stead for your application. Most important is a confident and enthusiastic nature coupled with a dedicated attitude.The Role -Kingston based Primary Teaching Assistant:This teaching assistant position based in the London borough of Kingston open to aspiring teachers is a September start and will see you working full-time, 5 days per week for the full academic year. You will be supporting across Key Stage 2 as a classroomteaching assistant with a focus on Numeracy and Literacy support; responsibilities will include guided reading, one to one and small group intervention, and general teaching assistant support. You will be the second teaching assistant assigned to a year 4class.
