Job Description

Assistant Management Accountant ,Kingston-upon-Thames, Permanent£30,000-£33,000 plus benefits25 days holiday + bank holidaysGreat opportunity to work for a for a Fortune 1000 listed company. An organisation offering progress, development and growth for its employees.Based at the companys Kingston office, the Assistant Management Accountant will assist with providing accurate and timely management accounts to the business and the preparation of required group reporting. The role will also handle day-to-day accounting processes around unbilled revenue and cost accruals, related balancesheet reconciliations and play an integral part in month-end closing for our UK & Ireland entities. This is an opportunity to join a dynamic finance team in a varied and challenging role. Reporting to the Finance Controller, the role covers a range accounting/financefunctions & ad hoc special projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping to develop a new back office accounting system. This role will also work closely with the regional EMEA finance team, the EMEA Shared Service Centre and the U.S.Corporate Headquarters.Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of the monthly management accounts for the UK and Ireland entities;
  • Analyse areas of the balance sheet and profit/loss accounts by segment and cost centre;
  • Business partner with key stakeholders within the business, establishing effective working relationships and providing clear insight into monthly financial results;
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of accounting records and compliance with accounting policies, U.S. GAAP & UK GAAP and SOX requirements;
  • Preparation and posting of month-end journals, including unbilled revenue, cost and payroll accruals;
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations;
  • Assist with the monthly/quarterly group reporting requirements of EMEA regional HQ and U.S. Corporate HQ, resolving any queries as necessary;
  • Ad hoc reporting requirements, as necessary;
  • Support accounting related projects e.g. finance process & systems improvements;
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors in fulfilling specific compliance requirements for the statutory and regulatory reporting.
Required Experience & Skills
  • Part-qualified or qualified - CIMA/ACA/ACCA;
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel;
  • A dynamic self-starter with a proactive approach to challenges;
  • Strong account reconciliation experience;
  • Able to analyse variances and report on them;
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Adaptability, ability to embrace and respond positively to change;
  • Analytical and investigative skills, logical reasoning and problem solving skills - individually and collaboratively;
  • Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining quality work and meeting strict deadlines;
  • Ability to quickly learn and work with new processes & systems;
  • Integrity and assertiveness when dealing with complex / business critical issues
