Job Description

LASER is a public sector buying group, providing an energy procurement and contract management service for the supply of electricity, gas and liquid fuels. LASER operates for a range of Local Authorities, public bodies and charities around the UK.Your RoleThe Energy Data Analyst is accountable for providing agreed services to a set group of Bureau customers. The service to the customers should be timely, accurate and in line with the customer SLA or SLD or otherwise agreed service. Including data entry, validation, reporting, analysis and the maintenance of the customer’s portfolio. The Energy Data Analyst will be the key contact for the set group of customers in all Bureau related matters, striving to deliver excellent customer service whilst working within their team.Key Duties

  • Act as the day to day customer contact, providing energy reports, data, telephone support and advice to LASER customers.
  • Import or manually enter energy data into the database from billing files, paper bills, and portal downloads and other Internet based data services.
  • Synchronise the database with the online web-portal. Highlight anomalies and unusual patterns of use within large quantities of data using M&T software.
  • Use M&T software and Microsoft packages, such as Excel, to analyse and validate data for accuracy and completeness, produce graphs and reports detailing validation results, energy usage and cost.
  • Raise queries with energy suppliers or customers relating to invoicing queries or meter reading issues.
  • Deal with internal and external customers by telephone, email and occasional meetings.
  • Develop and maintain an awareness of the energy industry and significant national and international policies relating to Climate Change.
  • Attend training events and seminars as appropriate.
  • Help promote the Energy Bureau service to existing and potential new customers.
  • Essential Criteria:
  • GCSE level of education or equivalent
  • Strong computer literacy demonstrating the ability to make use of large volumes of data
  • Good presentation and communication skills (both verbally and in written format)
  • Able to build rapport quickly within teams, with peers and stakeholders
  • Resilient nature - able to overcome obstacles and barriers and to maintain pace and momentum
  • Lead by example and set the standards that support the image we want to project to our customers, suppliers and colleagues
  • Ability to work as part of a team whilst being self-motivated
