The post holder is required to work collaboratively in a safe, care and respectful way.As an experienced Renal Technologist based at University Hospital Crosshouse you will join a small dedicated team providing specialist support, carry out repairs and maintain a range of complex renal dialysis equipment under the care of the medical physics department as well as providing a service for home dialysis patients within NHS Ayrshire & Arran.A Degree in an appropriate discipline, or equivalent qualifications, is essential, however alternative qualifications, complemented by an acceptable knowledge, training and experience profile, to meetthe required person specification, will be considered. Completion of an appropriate professional body approved training scheme leading to professional registration with the Register of Clinical Technologists (RCT) or with the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine (IPEM) is desirable. Membership of ART, IPEM, or equivalent institution, at an appropriate level, is desirable.Suitably qualified and experienced candidates who are not on the register may be considered and supported to gain registration and employed on Annex U if appropriate.An in depth knowledge of the clinical and technical aspects of a wide range of renal medical equipment and the ability to demonstrate a high level of fault finding on electronic, hydraulic and mechanical systems is essential. Substantial post-qualification experience in managing electronic equipment is required with experience as a Practitioner in Medical Physics Technology preferred. Excellent communication skills along with the ability to manage and prioritise workload on own initiative with minimal supervision is essential. Knowledge of clinical applications of medical devices in renal dialysis is desirable.A car/owner driver is essential.Hours: 37.5 per week.Informal enquiries are welcomed by Michael Ramsay, Renal Technical Services Manager on.
