Job Description

Senior Compliance Officer - KilmarnockChange Recruitment Group are delighted to be working with a global organisation on the search for a Senior Compliance Officer to join their team. We’re looking for a highly motivated and knowledgeable compliance professional. The successful candidate willdemonstrate the ability to work independently, giving compliance advice whilst supporting the development of the risk and compliance frameworks.Key responsibilities:

  • Partnering with business functions in conducting regulatory and conduct risk assessments, which identify and mitigate regulatory risks and support the development of good governance, risk and compliance awareness in accordance with the Compliance Framework
  • Support the business to strengthen the control environment by embedding compliance and risk management best practices
  • Advising business areas on complex compliance matters
  • Ensuring that the business follows all necessary regulations
  • Developing and recommending changes to the risk and compliance frameworks
  • Monitoring and reporting on compliance activities
  • Keeping up to date with all relevant regulations and legislation
  • Managing and coordinating the compliance projects
  • Undertaking ad hoc regulatory or operational risk reviews as requested by senior managers or in response to any issues arising
  • Reviewing policies, procedures and communications
Key skills and experience:
  • At least three years of regulatory experience in a compliance advisory role within Financial Services
  • Sound knowledge of the UK regulatory environment and understanding of the FCA rules and regulations
  • The ability to assess new information and understand the implications for the business
  • Exceptional technical expertise with the ability to assess, develop and apply compliance solutions
  • Proven track record of successfully working with senior stakeholders and other functions across three lines of defence
  • Experience in regulatory reporting and preparing information for regulators
  • Comfortable presenting and defending findings to senior managers
