The post holder is required to work collaboratively in a safe, caring and respectful way.We are looking for an experienced and innovative registered Dietitian with an interest in delivering a specialist service for children and young people across NHS Ayrshire and Arran. Specialist areas include Type 1 Diabetes, Gastroenterology, Cystic Fibrosis and Allergy. Specialist area covered would depend on candidates experience.The post holder will be expected to confidently use skills in both 1:1 consultations, joint consultations and in groups to deliver education to patients, their families and carers. Settings include acute wards, out-patient clinics, schools and using digital solutions to promote optimal care. The post holder will act as a source of expertise in the nutritional management of paediatric patients living across Ayrshire and to work as an integral part of the wider paediatric team and be able to promote the role of the dietitian as services evolve. The post holder will also need to exhibit leadership skills and demonstrate the ability to work with statutory and voluntary organizations and agencies.The post is based within University Hospital Crosshouse and will work alongside Dietitians, Dietetic Assistant Practitioner and Dietetic Support Workers colleagues to support effective delivery of dietetic care working to national and local targets and drivers.The Department provides training to A and C placement students and offers clinical supervision.You should possess an Honours degree/postgraduate diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council. Experience in Paediatrics is essential.
