Job Description

CAD Designer & EstimatorThe role of CAD Designer & Estimator is focussed on providing exceptional design support to the sales team in the pursuit of new and repeat business in the outdoor commercial leisure industry. An exciting and varied role for a junior or recent graduate productdesigner in products, furniture, shade & shelter, play equipment and full redevelopment schemes. The successful candidate will have an exceptional attitude and drive to design and deliver projects to tight lead times.Salary: 24k to 30k DOEHours: 8am to 4.30pmLocation: Killamarsh S21CAD DesignerJob Description

  • Creation of 3D visual and 2D layout drawings to wow customers and win the job.
  • Design and development of bespoke or made-to-measure products and design requests from customers.
  • Provision of quotations and cost estimate for products and schemes, including sourcing of components where required.
  • Technical drawings for the quotation of designs, products and components by external fabricators or suppliers.
  • Layout, create, or duplicate customer artwork for print production.
  • Design, development and research of new products, materials and finishes to enhance, complement, and expand the range.
  • Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes, and ability to offer consultation and advice on design problems.
  • Occasional travel of site to survey and support sales and project management teams on site meetings in a professional and knowledgeable capacity.
  • Any other duties as required.
CAD DesignerKey Requirements & Experience
  • Exceptional attitude, drive and passion for design.
  • Excellent verbal and visual communication with colleagues and clients.
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment to tight deadlines.
  • Experienced 2D draughting software user (Autodesk AutoCAD preferred).
  • Experienced 3D visualisation software user (Autodesk 3ds Max, Autodesk Arnold).
  • Familiarity with Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Familiarity with BS EN 1176 Childrens Playground Equipment safety standards is desirable (training given).
  • Educated in product design or related discipline to degree level, or equivalent by experience.
  • Professional experience in a design role preferred.
