Job Description

Purchasing AssistantAre you looking for a role that supports the sustainable sourcing, procurement and freight of herbal raw materials and packaging used within a purposeful, sustainable, fast-paced and growing ethical business Do you aspire to gain strong commercial awareness within the food industryBased in our award-winning Bristol head office, were looking for a Purchasing Assistant to join our Procurement team. The role is full-time and comes with a competitive salary of up to £25,000 per annum alongside a benefits package designed to nurture your wellbeing and personal development.About the roleThis is an exciting opportunity for someone to join the team and support the sourcing, procurement and logistics of components used within Pukkas portfolio. As our Purchasing Assistant youll work closely with current suppliers, as well as being involved in the sourcing and approval of new ones and will work with Pukka colleagues across the supply chain making sure they are kept informed on any changes in timelines or volumes of materials.Day-to-day youll be covering a variety of activities including liaising with international suppliers and freight forwarders to arrange deliveries and collections of stock, as well as submitting pre-shipment samples to our Quality Control team for testing and approval. Youll be responsible for the accurate and timely upkeep of internal systems, progressing purchase orders and from placement to receipt, and ensuring continuity of supply and achievement of key business targets through regular monitoring and reportingAbout youTo be our Purchasing Assistant youll have experience in import and export of sea, road and air freight, and a good working knowledge of customs clearance procedures and requirements. Although not essential, supply chain knowledge of systems and processes from supplier to consumer would be great, as well as some experience in stock control and working with ERP business systems.A good communicator, you will be able to build and maintain strong working relationships with both internal colleagues and all external partners and stakeholders. Commercially aware youll ideally have the ability to influence and negotiate, research and build a network. Youll have excellent attention to detail and a highly numerate and analytical approach to your work, and be organised and able to prioritise effectively.Youll thrive at pace, demonstrate resilience when dealing with ambiguity, and turn challenge and obstacles into decisive and purposeful action.
