Job Description

Our Northamptonshire based client is currently recruiting for a Technical Sales Manager to lead their sales of adhesives and sealants throughout the UK and Europe dedicated to the market for Gas services.This is essentially a stand-alone role and encompasses all activities related to the sales and supply of leakage control sealants, service insertion and ancillary products into the UK gas distribution industry - covering technical support, product pricing, tenders, sales calls and supply contracts.Main duties will include:

  • Gather market intelligence and competitor information.
  • Ensure Sales and Profitability targets are achieved.
  • Act as a commercial spearhead to achieve sales growth.
  • Service existing account base, introduce new products and find new customers thereby building sales growth.
  • Generate new business from personal activity.
  • Carry out gas industry PQQs and tender applications and negotiations.
  • Possess the ability to work as part of a team and liaise with internal and external colleagues.
  • Supply technical support and training to the Gas Industry users when required.
  • Prepare reports as and when required.
    • Essential Requirements
  • A hands-on approach is required and a willingness to cover all aspects of product support (and waste management).
  • The applicant needs to be self-motivated and able to work independently to establish an updated customer database and increased contact with the end users.
  • Experience in the gas industry distribution sector
  • Experience in cast iron gas main leakage repair techniques
  • Experience in gas service and riser repair methods including service insertion
  • An ability to write product support documents
  • A background education in science/engineering would be useful
  • An understanding of basic Office software - Excel, Word and PowerPoint essential
