Job Description

Company DescriptionIPS - a part of Culina group is the largest co-packer in the UK, working with some of the best-known food brands to provide cost-effective and innovative co-packing, co-filling and co-manufacturing solutions.We are currently recruiting for a Production Controller to join our IPS site in Desborough, on a full time and permanent basis.Shifts: 0600-1400, 1400-2200, rotatingJob DescriptionTo manage production lines and labour to meet planned volume and commercial targets in accordance with QA and safety standards.

  • Motivate a team of people to meet production targets
  • Ensure the final product meets client specifications (SPI)
  • To effectively maximise production efficiency to ensure plan is met on a hourly/daily basis.
  • Effectively use the onsite IT and Warehouse Management Systems
  • Ensure that all areas comply with hygienic audits, both internal and external
  • Assist in the training and development for all production workers including new starters
  • Attend Line leader meetings, and relevant training courses when required
  • To assist in the identification and development of Line Leaders to promote success planning
  • Monitor, control and minimise waste
  • Play an active part in continuous improvement
  • To conduct RTWs for line workers
  • To participate in the companies PDP program
  • To conduct disciplinary investigations in accordance with company procedure
  • To act as specialist for machinery knowledge
  • Manage the output of assigned production and effectively deal with issues
  • Cover for the Area Manager in his/her absence.
  • Liaise with customers and clients as and when required.
  • Must be prepared to cover a variety of shifts to represent the management team
Qualifications
  • H&S L2 Qualification
  • NVQ L2 in Team Leading of Packing Operations
  • Experience of manufacturing machinery and processes
Skills
  • Ability to communicate in a positive and clear manner
  • Fosters an open and collaborative culture
  • Listen and encourage new ideas from others
  • Knowledge of company procedures and actively demonstrates compliance
  • Able to positively lead a team of people (temporary labour)
  • Ability to plan, organise and prioritise work to strict deadlines
