Job Description

ROLE: Electrical Assembler LOCATION: Kettering HOURS OF WORK: DaysBASIC SALARY: £30,379.44Company ProfileOur client is seeking an Electrical Assembler to join their organisation based in Kettering on a permanent basis.In this Electrical Assembler role, you will be responsible for:

  • To support in the delivery of the build program for Big Build by applying best mechanical and electrical practises.
  • Installation and fault finding on an array of AC and DC electrical and electronic systems in line with Engineering design intent; similarly, to apply best practise and electrical engineering assurance to installations.
  • Ensuring the correct cabling termination methods are applied as per best practise and that there is wiring continuity and that safety circuits are correctly routed and fused.
  • To support sub-assembly and off-line wiring and preparation of auxiliary panels whilst working closely with Engineering to provide a feedback loop for Continuous Improvement.
  • To act as an advocate for Quality, ensuring that the highest level of due diligence and care is taken on each vehicle.
  • Installation and integration of boom to chassis wiring to ensure functionality is as per the customer specification.
  • Mechanical installation of sub frames, outriggers, and ancillary equipment; this will include the use of power tools, and the correct application of torque settings on critical fasteners.
  • To undergo training to adhere to existing work practices, methods, procedures, undertake relevant training and development activities and to respond positively to new and alternative systems.
  • To maintain a high level of housekeeping and alignment to the Companys Health and Safety policies.
  • The completion of all relevant documentation including checklists, inspection and test sheets in compliance with company build quality and ISO standards.
To be successful as a Electrical Assembler:
  • Experienced in the use of power tools such as jigs, grinders, rivet guns etc.
  • Ability to read and interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics.
  • A high degree of aptitude with a willingness to "get the job done".
  • The successful applicant must work well as part of a team with a dogmatic and deterministic approach.
  • A good electrical engineering background with proven experience in interconnection and termination methodologies i.e., crimping, splicing etc.
  • Be able to work on own their initiative and have high attention to detail.
  • Proven team player with critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
