Job Description

Document Controller - ConstructionMy client is a rapidly expanding building contractor involved in new-build commercial and residential contracts with values up to c £10m.They are friendly family business with a great repeat-order book and excellent relationships with clients and supply chain alike.They are currently looking to recruit a Document Controller for their head office based in Northamptonshire to support projects throughout the UK.THE ROLE

  • Manage the internal Electronic Documents Management System which will involve
  1. Adding new users and provide required access to projects
  2. Ensure information issued has correct numbering and revisions
  3. Distributing documents to the relevant people, suppliers and subcontractors, and letting them know when they need to take action on a document as part of a process in a timely manner.
  4. Ensure review deadlines are achieved
  5. Utilise all tools within documents management system, providing reports for project meetings
  6. Update drawings status
  7. Setup new projects and assign the required access to the employees, suppliers and subcontractors.
  8. Uploading documents to the EDMS
  • Support the site team with document control requirements
  • Numbering and labelling documents for identification and reference
  • Scanning, copying and distributing documents to project team members and stakeholders
  • Tracking documents to maintain information release dates
  • Training employees / subcontractors in the Company document management system as required
  • Assist in the compilation of project completion O&M manuals
  • Preparing and updating document control procedures for the company
  • Making sure that employees and subcontractors are following the correct procedures in the document flow process
  • Coordinating flow of information both from and to the Project Team
  • Carrying out administration duties for specific departments or teams in the organisation.
ABOUT YOU
  • The successful candidate ideally to have previous experience working as a Document Controller in a construction environment.
  • IT literacy and competency in programmes such as MS Office and Excel.
  • Candidates must be self-motivated, driven and hard working.
  • Attention to detail is essential, you must be well organised and be able to work under pressure and complete tasks within tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and written
