Job Description

Accounts AssistantWere thrilled to present an enticing opportunity for an Accounts Assistant to join our esteemed clients team in Kettering. Expect a dynamic and diverseworkday, enriched by a culture of collaboration and collective achievement.As a pivotal team member reporting to the Financial Controller, your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining the purchase ledger, keeping it up to date and accurate.
  • Processing supplier invoices and credit notes daily, ensuring correct authorisation and matching with purchase orders.
  • Conducting monthly reconciliation of supplier statements to ensure records are up to date.
  • Preparing payment runs in accordance with supplier terms.
  • Following up on proforma payments to secure the official VAT invoice.
  • Managing the Fixed Asset Register, including depreciation calculations and entries.
  • Calculating and recording month-end accruals and prepayments.
  • Assisting in the monthly Profit & Loss review and generation of Gross Profit margin and actual cost of sales reports.
  • Reconciling bank, PayPal, and credit card accounts meticulously.
  • Managing company credit card transactions and various month-end reporting duties.
  • Undertaking ad hoc tasks as directed by the Financial Controller, including setting up of new supplier accounts and fostering strong internal and external relationships.
  • Monitoring the Accounts email inbox to ensure timely and efficient communication.

  • Salary £25,000 - £30,000 per annum depending on experience.
  • 9am - 5.30pm hours per week (37.5 hours per week).
  • 20 days holiday plus statutory days.
  • Study Support after successful completion of probation.
  • Pension.
