Job Description

As our 1st Line IT Technical Support Engineer, you will be responsible for working on new and existing tickets that come through via phone calls and emails from colleagues around the business, alongside and working with our external IT support providers.The support required may include hardware and software support across various platforms; setting up new IT equipment; network troubleshooting and support; VoIP and more.This 1st line role can be an office or hybrid position, working full time Monday to Friday 8:30-5pm, paying an excellent salary of £26,000 per annum,This 1st line support role is ideal for an individual who enjoys solving problems, excels in communicating with others and places the customer first.Skills needed for the 1st line support opportunity:

  • Proven track record with troubleshooting and delivering an excellent service
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ideally 1 year experience
  • Experience of · Telephony · SQL Server · Windows Server · Microsoft Server and Server Architecture · Windows Desktop · Office 365 · Good working knowledge of IT Infrastructure and Architecture
  • Good working knowledge of IT Infrastructure and Architecture
  • Good working knowledge of 3rd party ERP, MRP, MRP2, WMS solutions · Understanding of networking, including TCP/IP, DNS and VLANs
  • Experience of administering and troubleshooting Microsoft 365 · Microsoft Server 2012R2
  • Working with frame works such as Cyber Essentials, GDPR and GRC
  • Adhering to security standards and show an understanding of existing and emerging Cyber Security threats · Security certifications such as CompTIA Security+ would be a benefit
  • Organised and methodical, with the ability to work to targets and goals
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated team player with the ability of working within a demanding environment and be able to demonstrate a logical approach to problem solving
  • Patience and ability to remain calm under pressure, whilst showing initiative at all times and an ability to apply a lateral thought process to problem resolution
Responsibilities for this 1st line support opportunity:
  • Support colleagues needs by dealing with reported incidents from ticketing systems and telephone within a committed SLA.
  • To work independently to utilise IT skills including but not limited to:
-Desktop support within a Windows environment-Network setup & troubleshooting/problem solving-LAN troubleshooting-VPN setups-WAN/Broadband troubleshooting-VoIP setup & management-Microsoft 365 administration:-Exchange Online-Azure Active Directory-SharePoint Online
  • Set up and coordinate the delivery and set up of new IT equipment
  • Ensure clear communication and positive relationship management with outsourced providers.
  • To work closely with all other departments within the business to improve IT processes and training where required.
  • Attend any relevant meetings as required.
  • Attend training courses, as required by the Company, and maintain individual self-development by remaining aware of industry best practice
