Job Description

Testing and Inspection Electrician/Engineer Job descriptionCurrently looking for experienced Testing and Inspections Electricians / Engineers for a large main contractor. As a testing and inspection electrician / engineer you will be working on a broad range of commercial and industrial clients within the water treatment, quarrying, nuclear and waste recycling sectors.THE ROLE

  • Carry out electrical condition reports on existing industrial installations.
  • Carry out Fixed Appliance testing.
  • Compile reports on supplied tablet / laptop.
  • Identify and correctly code defects in line with BS 7671, listing all materials required for rectification.
  • Complete selected remedial works at time of inspection.
  • Complete electrical installation works arising from the condition report on return visit, inclusive of all testing and certification.
  • Read, understand and follow Risk Assessments and Methods Statements.
  • Undertake companys electrical competency assessment.
  • Taking responsibility for the Health & Safety of self and all under your control.
  • Working at height
  • Working in confined spaces
  • Working in industrial and commercial environments
  • Ensuring the quality of your work on site is completed right first time and to company standards.
  • Travel and lodging will be required on occasion.
    • RequirementsTHE CANDIDATE
  • Gold ECS card
  • CCNSG Safety Passport
  • EUSR Clean Water card
  • Experience in a similar role within an industrial environment
  • Test and Inspect qualification
  • Appropriate City & Guilds trade Qualification
  • Fitness to work medical
  • Experience as an Electrician in an industrial environment, ideally within the water/waste water industry
  • Punctuality and reliability.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and company procedures.
  • Willingness to learn and undertake occupational and Health & Safety training.
  • Numeric and reading skills.
  • Prepared to take responsibility for self and others.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Able to work on own initiative.
  • Ability to give and take instruction.
  • Emergency first aid or First Aider.
