Summary East Riddlesden Hall is a beautiful National Trust property in West Yorkshire and we are proud to be able to contribute to the conservations of the grounds and house with our successful weddings and events business. Our couples and clients are always at the heart of what we do and having excellent people skills is a key element of the role. Youll be a crucial member of the wedding team, working closely with the co-ordinators’ and suppliers successfully supervising the bar and evenings of events and weddings.You will manage the bar operations and supervise a team of staff so that it is commercially successful and consistently exceeds our client’s expectations. What its like to work here Marsden Moor Estate comprises 2,301 hectares of moorland. The estate is situated at the head of the Colne Valley in West Yorkshire and encompasses the northerly most part of the Peak District National Park. Marsden Moor is a landscape steeped in history, from prehistoric man to historic trans-Pennine transport routes. Hardcastle Crags is a beauty spot of the South Pennines with more than 400 acres of unspoilt woodland. At its heart is Gibson Mill, which has no link to the national grid, making the mill unique in the UK and the Trusts flagship sustainable building. / What youll be doing Your role will be centred around working on the vibrant bar during busy weddings and events, supervising the bar team giving support and guidance and ensuring the closedown of the venue runs efficiently.You will also be an evening lead for these events when the Wedding coordinators shift ends and will be in charge of clearing up and locking up with your team at the end of the night and ensuring all tasks are complete ready for potential weddings the next day.We have on average 80 weddings a year on all days of the week so are a busy business and we would want the person in this role to work the majority of these as you will be a key part of the day.You will be responsible for ensuring the bar area is kept clean and tidy, manage cleaning of the cellar, beer lines and equipment, assisting with clearing up after events and supporting the wedding co-ordinators on the day.The primary focus of the role is to ensure that the evening of the wedding runs smoothly along with the operations of the bar and you are able to successfully cope with any issues. So being able to stay calm in stressful situations is key to the role. The wedding co-ordinator will run the wedding up until the end of the wedding formalities (usually the first dance, around 8pm). Then you will supervise the end of the night and assist with guests leaving and clear up of the event. It is really important that the venue is left cleared ready to handover to the facilities team in the morning due to our quick turnover of weddings.You will be a part of a motivated and enthusiastic team who are really passionate about what they do and we are looking for someone who shares this same passion for weddings and events. It will be your shared responsibility to ensure the bar team are delivering a high-standard of customer service, keeping the bar area clean and tidy and working to National Trust standards. You will report into our Weddings and Functions manager and work closely to run a successful and motivated bar for weddings and events.The contract will be annualised and your working pattern will be busier during peak wedding season (Spring/summer months), this would also include one day a week to assist with the bar maintenance.You must have good management skills, be proactive and organised and experience in a fast-paced environment (preferably previous bar or hotel work experience).·Must be willing to work weekends and late-night shifts.·Driving license not essential but preferred as you will be working until 1pm most shifts.·Cellar management qualification and personal license desirable but can be obtained once you are hired for the position·Must be over the age of 18.*Hours are likely to be increased especially during peak wedding season and the contract extended for the right candidate.Please also read the full role profile, attached tothis advert.
