Summary If you want a career in Gardening, we can offer you some of the most beautiful outdoor spaces in the UK to work in as well as one of the largest plant collections in Europe.Salary:Please note that the base salary for this role is £22,400, with additional outer London weighting allowance of £2,828 paWorking pattern: youll be required to work every third weekend as part of a rota however the other three days are negotiable/ flexible in terms of working days/hours spread across the week. What its like to work here One of the last surviving country estates in London, Osterley Park and House is a vibrant attraction. The high turnaround of visitors means work is fast-paced, with the team always looking for creative ways to attract greater visitor numbers. Outdoor activitiesare a key focus, and the estate is part of the National Trusts Cycle Trail project. Osterley Park enjoys a fantastic location just 20 minutes outside of London, so you can travel here by car or public transport.Osterley Park and House also has a garden for all seasons - the gardens are divided into three areas to ensure interest all year round and perfect if youre looking for some garden inspiration! The urban eighteenth-century formal gardens were restored bythe National Trust to their original grandeur. Click here for more information about this location What youll be doing As a hands-on Gardener, youll assist in making sure that the gardens are maintained to a high standard. Youll be passionate and enthused and knowledgeable about the varied plants within the garden. This role will include a range of practical horticulturaltasks to develop, enhance and conserve the garden and contribute to the delivery of projects. Youll be helping with hard and soft landscaping and general maintenance of the garden, such as mulching, pruning, leaf clearing and weeding. Youll support withthe planting and maintenance of trees, shrubs, herbaceous plants. Youll be helping to cut the hedges and mow our fine lawns. Youll also take ownership of specific areas of the garden, such as organic veg production, ensuring the highest standards are maintainedand healthy plants are available for our visitors to enjoy.Youll also support garden volunteers and help them to make the most of their time here.
