Advanced Specialist Paediatric Speech & Language Therapist Band 7Location Inverurie Hospital (Aberdeenshire SLT Team)Vacancy Description Hours: 37.5 hours per week. (part time may be considered) 1 year fixed term contract. (secondment may be considered)Details We are recruiting a Speech and Language Therapist to a new pilot initiative for one year. The post holder will be a key member of a multi-agency team, focussed on the delivery of Aberdeenshire’s ‘Promise’ to children and families on the edge of care, edging to care or leaving care. The team will provide wrap around and sustained support to try to prevent children becoming looked after, or if they do need to be looked after then it is for a short time, with support and ongoing work with the family in order that the child can be returned if possible. Although the post is for one year initially, there is 3 years planned funding in place and we plan to implement what we learn more widely across services in Aberdeenshire over that time. This role is central to the effort of the team, as we know that a high proportion of this cohort will have speech, language and/or communication difficulties. This role would suit a speech and language therapist with at least 5 years post graduate experience, looking to further develop their specialist interest in working with children, young people (12- 25 years). There are good opportunities for professional and personal development and staff members are encouraged to contribute to the development of the service as a whole. We have a robust mentorship and supervision programme to support all therapists. A car driver and access to a car is essential for this post.Informal enquiries to: Emma-Louise MacPherson (Lead SLT) onInterviews for this post will be held on Monday 19th April 2021.
