Job Description

Trainer Consultant – Maritime – Nautical Science (ref: 20/206)

  • £35,000 – £40,000 per annum. Relocation is available if the candidate is not within a reasonable commute of Humber Maritime College
  • 37 hours per week
  • Permanent
  • Location: Humber Maritime College, Immingham, North East Lincolnshire

  • Humber Maritime College (HMC) is part of the TEC Partnership, a large, dynamic and innovative group of further and higher education colleges. HMC provides Merchant Navy Cadet programmes and professional courses for the maritime and offshore sectors.We are looking to strengthen our team by appointing an additional Maritime Trainer Consultant for Deck Cadet programmes. The post holder will teach and assess a range of deck disciplines for our Merchant Navy Cadets as well as supporting the delivery of professional short courses. This post will suit someone who may have both teaching and merchant navy experience, as well as professional seafarers who are looking to get in to teaching and training.The successful candidate will hold or have held deck officer roles within the Merchant Navy, and have:
  • Excellent knowledge and skills in navigation and nautical science
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in accuracy
  • The ability to communicate with people at all levels
  • The capability to manage a wide caseload of activity
