Job Description

Ford & Stanley - The Rail Recruitment Experts are working in partnership with a leading supplier of rail wagon maintenance and repair services on the look for a Purchasing Controller to join their team on a permanent basis. Our client continues to deliver the best solutions that surpass customer expectations and offer a wide range of wagon and freight servicing solutions, from maintenance and repair to the procurement of specialist parts and components.The Opportunity- To oversee the procurement processes for our client to ensure all materials and other items required by the company are correctly identified, purchased, managed, and controlled to ensure the business can function correctly.Location: ImminghamRole and Responsibilities:

  • To deal with Goods Inwards queries and receipts of purchase orders.
  • Maintenance and control of the Approved Vendor list and Safety-Critical Suppliers list.
  • The maintenance of the company material catalogue.
  • Maintaining usage data on all "on condition" items on relevant projects.
  • To manage PI. Counts at outstations and reconcile discrepancies over set limits.
  • To monitor and manage slow-moving and obsolete stock reports and manage the disposal of this material to both internal and external customers.
  • To monitor and communicate with outstations regarding all stock reports, stock transfers and stock negatives.
  • Expediting Purchase Orders on a daily basis.
  • To manage organisation and invoicing process for wheelset float for relevant customers.
  • Ensure that the purchasing price lists are maintained and updated.
  • Ensure all expenditure is recovered where applicable.
  • Ensure that all actions are within the companys Purchasing Procedures.
  • To action any other task as requested by the Head of Department.
