Job Description

Knauf UK & Ireland are a market-leading manufacturer of lightweight building materials for the construction industry. We are part of the Knauf Group, the world’s largest producer of gypsum-based products for the construction industry.With two manufacturing plants in the UK and a state of the art Showroom based in the heart of the A&D Community in Clerkenwell, London - we are well equipped to Build for the World We Live In.We are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Manager to join our manufacturing plant in Immingham.Job PurposeA commitment to providing effective and efficient asset management will be required to enable you to lead maintenance activity at the Immingham plant.You will be required to work closely with manufacturing and process engineering teams to implement planned preventative maintenance systems and processes which maximize process up-time while efficiently utilizing maintenance resources.Main Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • You are required to follow company Health and Safety procedures to ensure the safety of yourself and others
  • Lead the execution of planned preventative and reactive maintenance tasks.
  • Adherence to budget for selected aspects of the Ordinary Repairs and Maintenance and selected Special Repair budgets (as specified by your line manager).
  • Leadership, coaching and development of a potentially multi-disciplined maintenance team.
  • Provide a fast and efficient breakdown 24/7 repair service for your functional responsibility which minimizes plant downtime.
  • Ensure that all plant and equipment under your functional responsibility is maintained to a standard which delivers safe, high quality, efficient production.
  • Ensure that Engineering areas are maintained to Professional Maintenance Standards and a 5S ethos in place.
  • Ensure the site’s Maintenance Management System is fully utilized, managed and maintained to a standard to deliver safe, high quality, efficient production.
  • Ensure Maintenance related Risk assessments are up to date and relevant and relevant controls are in place.
  • Recognized CBM specialist and drive the use of Predictive and Prescriptive techniques.
  • Leadership, coaching and development of a potentially multi-disciplined maintenance team
  • Deputies for the Engineering Manager as required (representative for Engineering at Site Leadership meetings).
  • Prepare & present on behalf of the Immingham Maintenance Team at internal audits.
  • Provide timely and accurate information in a variety of formats, Excel, reports, graphs etc.…
  • Be available as part of an out of hours engineering call out rota enabling production to operate with minimum disruption.
  • Anything else commensurate to complete your role.
  • Requirements:
  • Qualified electrical or mechanical engineer to minimum HNC level.
  • Experienced in an engineering management role, working in a fast paced continuous manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience of using SAP PM Maintenance Planning System (or other Computerized Maintenance Management Systems - CMMS) - understanding of Preventive Maintenance Schedules, Time and Condition Based Maintenance (CBM).
  • ISOH Managing Safety.
  • Experience in Condition Based Maintenance Techniques - Vibration Analysis, Thermography.
  • Expert in Lubrication Methodology and Schedules.
  • Demonstrable experience of Maintenance Management Processes- including reviews of maintenance data and KPIs, and leading strategies to improve.
  • Knowledge of Continuous Improvement (CI) Tools - 5S, PDCA Cycle, RCA, 5 Why’s
  • Ability to manage Maintenance Budgets.
  • Advanced Excel and data analysis skills essential.
