  • Tramping
  • Day shift only
  • Day shift with occasional nights away (with prior agreement)

Ewals Cargo Care operate over 3500 Mega Trailers and have 36 offices in 17 countries employing over 2400 staff.We remain family owned & run, and celebrate over 110 years of innovation and growth. The Mega trailer was a Ewals invention, and we are market leaders in Pan-European automotive logistics.We are not interested in cutting corners or running illegally.We offer a professional, quality service to prestigious blue-chip clients.A bit about the LGV Class 1 Driver roleWe predominantly service “Blue chip” manufacturing clients, (meaning regular destinations.) Most of our work is “International”, and we collect unaccompanied trailers from various ports throughout the UK.We use Mega Trailers and most of our work is “full load”. Our equipment is first class, with a modern fleet of Scanias.A bit about youWe are interested in professional drivers who take pride in all aspects of their duties.The following are pre- requisite:
  • DVLA issued vocational licence ”LGV1” class C&E
  • Valid DCPC qualification & Tacho card
  • A minimum of 1 year’s recent experience of driving RHD (right hand drive) Artics on UK roads.
  • The ability to communicate well in English
  • You must be fit & healthy. Drivers are required to open curtains, couple trailers and secure loads which can be physically demanding.
  • Our expectation is that, when necessary, drivers work to the limits of Tachograph & Tt legislation, but never beyond them

  • £500 “New starter bonus”
  • Weekly paid
  • Usual weekly gross earnings (5 shifts worked) of £687.50
  • 6th shift paid at premium rate.
  • Nights out are paid at £25 tax free.
  • 29 days holiday (including bank holidays) – equivalent to £3657 per annum
  • Company pension scheme including life insurance
  • In house DCPC training provided free of charge.
  • Annual fuel efficiency bonus- high performers receive a significant lump sum.
