Job Description

Job Title: Instrumentation and Control TechnicianLocation: North LincsSalary: £40,000 paBenefits: 28 days annual leave plus bank hols, Share scheme, Enhanced Pension ContributionPosition Overview: As an Instrumentation and Control Technician you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliable and efficient operation of the plant energy systems. You will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting controlsystems and instrumentation critical to operations.   1. Consult diagrams and technical documentation, such as schematics and manuals, to understand system components and configurations.
  2. Maintain backup and revision documentation for control systems and instrumentation.
  3. Install, configure, calibrate, and maintain control, measurement, and indicating instrumentation, including pneumatic, analogue, and digital devices.
  4. Ensure the proper functioning of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
  5. Install and terminate instrument and electrical connections accurately and safely.
  6. Inspect and test the operation of instruments and systems to diagnose faults and implement corrective measures.
  7. Remove, repair, adjust, and replace faulty components as needed.
  8. Calibrate components and systems to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
  9. Maintain various computer-based control systems for optimal performance.
  10. Work with a variety of instruments, including pressure, flow, temperature, level transmitters, analyzers, sensors, detectors, signal conditioners, controllers, and final control elements.
Qualifications:
  • A degree or diploma in Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an Instrumentation and Control Technician in a renewable energy or similar industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of control systems and instrumentation principles.
  • Familiarity with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
  • Proficiency in reading technical diagrams and documentation.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
