Are you looking for progression in a dynamic and forward-thinking company and have an outstanding attitude to working safely in an incredibly busy environmentDFDS are looking for several General Stevedore Operatives to work on their North Terminal in J Gang at Immingham. This is a 39 hour contract You will be responsible for handling and preparing all cargoes during working operations of any allocated Ro-Ro,Lo-Lo, conventional vessels and any / all associated Terminal activities. The role will be accountable to ensure that all operations are carried out correctly and in accordance with any legislative requirements and Company policy in a safe and efficient manner.To name some but not all tasks required of our General Stevedore Operatives; you will load, discharge and restow ships, tally cargo and check for any anomalies. Plug and unplug temperature-controlled units, handle all cargo for storage, warehousing or anyother purpose within the Terminal area. Ensure segregation and correct handling of hazardous cargo at all times. Examine cargo to check for damage, discrepancies, hazards etc, reporting any damage as soon as it becomes apparent. Use of Terminal Computer Systems.Lashing and Securing Cargo and manual Handling.
