Job Description

Ford & Stanley - The Rail Recruitment Experts are working in partnership with a leading supplier of rail wagon maintenance and repair services on the look for a Fleet controller to join there team on a permanent basis. Our client continues to deliver the best solutions that surpass customer expectations and offer a wide range of wagon and freight servicing solutions, from maintenance and repair to the procurement of specialist parts and components.The Opportunity- The role of Fleet Controller will be in control of planned maintenance and stoppage repair service provided to customers for their fleets, to enable them to have the highest possible availability.Location: ImminghamRole and Responsibilities:

  • To deal with all stoppages on allocated fleets including entering all stoppage information onto the computer system, advising Field Service Area Office and Field Service staff.
  • To keep customers fully appraised of all stoppages i.e. progress, problems etc.
  • To assist Field Service staff with the movement of wagons into a suitable safe working area and insourcing of spare parts to ensure speedy repairs.
  • To ensure wagons are released from cripple status once repaired.
  • To produce and monitor maintenance plans for all allocated fleets.
  • To ensure wagons are released from maintenance events correctly and where necessary, TOPS is updated correctly and in real-time.
  • Review vehicle mileage from TOPS as required for individual customers.
  • To cover as a "B" controller during holidays etc.
  • At frequent intervals per week go through Tops print to ensure all vehicles that have been repaired are cleared.
  • To obtain order numbers from allocated customers for non-contract work and submit the final costs as required.
  • As/when required by the customer, monitor wheelset bearing dates and ensure all wheelsets are kept in date in accordance with customers wheelset and bearing policy.
  • To produce and monitor Balanced Maintenance plans for all allocated fleets.
  • Enter "Dangerous Good Incident" information onto the ERP System
  • Control of "damage events" as required for individual customers.
  • Ensure all wheelset details are correctly entered onto the system and compile - distribute reports as required.
  • Ensure any descriptive comments are entered onto the system.
  • Assist in General Office duties as and when required to ensure the Immingham Office runs smoothly to include dealing with incoming calls and resolving any queries and scanning documents.
  • Assist with any other work requirement as directed by your line manager.

  • PC literate with the ability to learn new packages quickly
