Job Description

WHAT IS IN IT FOR YOUPermanent positionSalary £45K-£50K DOEDay shift hours40-hour week25 days holiday, plus statutoryDiscount voucher schemesCycle to work schemeFree employee well-being programmeTHE BUSINESSWestray Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to work on a permanent basis for our client based in Immingham. The organisation manufactures chemical products that are distributed throughout the UK, Europe and international markets.As part of the Leadership Team, you will manage overall site maintenance for a 24/7 operation (including plant/packing equipment, land & buildings, mobile plant, site services etc.) and lead capital investment projects (overall financial and implementationresponsibility). You will also provide operational support to other site functions including manufacturing, planning & supply chain, technical and warehouse/logistics.THE ROLEEstablish and monitor operator maintenance and cleaning methods for all equipment.Develop and utilise a maintenance management system to ensure maximum machine efficiency while preserving effective use of resources.Co-ordinate the maintenance and repair of all plant, equipment and infrastructure to achieve a safe, efficient and cost-effective operation (including out-of-hours).Arrange plant & equipment inspection routines to expose potential failures early enough to plan scheduled repairs and reduce unplanned downtime.Continually assess plant and system operations to identify potential performance improvements.Control and monitor safety, environmental and quality systems to ensure full compliance with statutory regulations and company policies.Manage the Permit-to-Work and Control of Contractors systems to ensure safe execution of all engineering activities.Manage equipment spares, supply & stockholding to ensure availability when needed, whilst maintaining control of costs.Submit project proposals to meet strategic development of the business and manage timely implementation to produce cost effective and optimum improvements.Control all engineering purchasing & budgets to contribute to the overall cost effectiveness of the business.Negotiate prices, contracts, lead-times while developing new and existing relationships with suppliers.Promote an inventive, can-do approach to problem solving and coach staff/contractors to think outside of the box to achieve timely, cost effective and robust solutions.Train, supervise and instruct staff to continually improve working methods and techniques.Support other operational and management functions to benefit the overall performance of the business.THE PERSONHigher National Certificate in engineering (or equivalent)IOSH Certificate (or equivalent)Advanced IT trainingSelf-motivating, self-organising and autonomous style.Resilient, strong-minded and determined character.Flexible approach to working hours, job content and work location.Ability to assess situations and make logical decisions on own initiative.Strong organisational, inventiveness and problem-solving skills.Effective communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.Focused attitude with a high concentration level.Technically & business orientated, safety aware and quality focused.Responsible and conscientious nature.Enthusiastic and infectious manner.Attention to detail and good aptitude for documentation & systems.The ability to lead and motivate in positive manner to achieve our business goals.Good time management, with the ability to work under pressure, maintain accuracy and keep to deadlinesTO APPLYPlease send your updated CV to Tony Hutchinson or apply direct by calling Westray Recruitment Group
