Home Instead Senior Care is the world’s leading provider of non-medical care and companionship services for older people. With minimum visits of one hour, award winning training and an excellent reputation we are immensely proud of the quality of care we provide. We match our CAREGivers to our clients based on mutual interests and hobbies to help build bonds of trust and enables us to provide personalised support. Think this might be the role for you Continue reading to see what a typical day may look like for you.A Day in the Life of a CAREGiver8.30am -9.30am - a personal care call; I go round to see a lady who has various health issues. I make her a drink and some breakfast and we spend some time chatting. I assist her with dressing and washing and getting changed, she enjoys watching Jeremy Kyle and likes me to sit with her whilst she is watching it, I do some jobs for her around her home for which she is always extremely grateful.9.45am - 11.45am - A companionship call: This lady has recently moved to the area, she loves to explore her new town with someone, we have some lovely trips together. She loves garden centres, so we get in to the car and go to various places and have a coffee and she enjoys a slice of cake and has a look around. My client has poor short term memory so I will check her medication to ensure she has taken it and will assist her to choose what she will eat for her evening meal. We always have lots of fun and laugh a lot.12pm - 1pm - Back to the lady I visited this morning. Normally when I arrive in the afternoon she is watching her soaps on TV, she enjoys Home and Away and Neighbours. I make her some lunch and something to drink, during this call we chat and look at photos of her husband and family, and I’ll do any extra jobs that need doing; for example the laundry. When I finish this call I have time to pop home for a cup of tea before picking my children up from school. Why do I do the job that I do - Simple really; because I love it. This job allows me to have balance. I can have a rewarding career which still allows me to have quality family time. When you go to visit a client and that person’s face just lights up and they tell you that they are so happy to see you, there is no other feeling like it, knowing you are making a true difference to someone’s life; making it easier; that there to me is what care is all about. Why join usWe are searching for lovely people within Ilkley and surrounding areas to join our 5* award winning team to help support our vulnerable clients in their own homes through this difficult time.
