Job Title: Skilled Fitter Job Location: Various Depots, LondonShifts: 4 on 4 off (Flexibility to work nights when required with enhancement)Hourly Rate: Days - £16.31 PAYE / £20.78 Umbrella Nights - £21.69 PAYE / £27.87 UmbrellaSaturday - £24.47 PAYE /£31.53 Umbrella (All hours)Sunday - £32.62 PAYE / £42.27 (All hours)Hours Per Week: 44 hours per week minimumDuration: OngoingStart Date: ASAPCompany SummaryThe largest Rolling Stock Producer, maintainer and servicing organisation in Europe are looking for experienced fitters to join a well established team at a busy rolling depot in East LondonPosition Summary: The role is carrying out Mechanical & Electrical overhaul including stripping and refitting. You will be specifically focused on modifications, interior strip and replace on modern Aventra Stock within a mid-sized heavy maintenance depot. This position is thekey focal point for the safe and reliable running of the fleet and is a key requirement against the Service Agreement (SA). This is a safety Critical position working on a busy live rail maintenance depot and in this role you would be expected to completethe following:* Work from written instruction (VMI)* Work from Engineering drawings, working to specific measurements * Removal of interiors and body sides* Rebuilding on the vehicle sides* Refitting, Seats, Grab Rails, Poles etc. * Remove large components such as axle boxes, bogies, valves and couplers* Replacing mechanical components to correspond to engineering drawings Person Profile:You will be a highly self-motivated individual as training to develop will be given to these individuals. Attitude and enthusiasm is key for this role you should be able to follow detailed instructions as an eye for details is key to this role. Following onthe job competency based training you will be able to work under your own initiative. Candidates from the following background will be considered:* HGV and PCV Technicians* RAF, REME, Army, Navy* Plant Maintenance * Engineering Services Maintenance * Rail* Plumbers* Shop Fitters* Heavy Mechanical EngineeringIdeal applicants would have had some maintenance/fitting experience of a heavy nature. Also due to the nature of the programme candidates must be able to workdays & nights which will include working at the weekend.
