Job Description

ABA Trained LSARedbridgeApril StartA large Special Needs School in Redbridge is recruiting an experienced ABA trained learning support assistant to start after the Easter break. This position is a full-time role, working via the agency. Working hours are 8.30am - 4pm Monday to Friday.The school caters for 180 children aged 11- 19 years old with, with EHCPs for SLD, PMLD and Autism. They have a strong academic focus; however, they also wish to develop students independence in a fun and nurturing way.Shortlisted candidates must have ABA training and previous SEN experience, especially with Autism and complex needs. You will be working in classes of 4-6 pupils providing 1:1 support. As well as supporting students academically, you will observe and support individual children, helping to develop interventions alongside the class teachers and outside agencies.Classes are generally formed based on age groups, however there will be varying abilities, with some students being non-verbal. Training in PECs and Makaton is desirable. There may also be personal care involved, so in date manual handling training is advantageous. Successful applicants are caring, calm and pro-active with a keen interest in SEN.For the right person, the school will offer excellent pay rates and a state-of-the-art working environment.Key skills and experience needed:
